Okay, Blaine. Focus. You can do this. You're just asking for their blessing. Their blessing to ask the most important person in your life the most important question ever. Just ignore the fact that one of them is a lot bigger than you and owns a flamethrower OH GOD!

At that moment, Carole opened the door.
"Hi, Blaine, c'mon in. Everybody's waiting for you."
"Ah, thanks."
I walked inside. Burt was sitting on the couch, and Finn was sitting on the armrest of a lazy-chair. Which I knew, both from experience and Kurt's endless phone calls, couldn't end well.

As I had asked, Kurt was nowhere to be seen.

Good. I wanted to surprise him when I asked.

"Alright, kiddo, so what's the deal? What's so important that you called us all here?" Burt asked me.
I twiddled my thumbs anxiously. Here goes nothing. "Um... W-Well, Kurt and I have been dating for three years now... and n-now that it's legal..."
"Yes?"
I swallowed and took a deep breath. "I-I... I would like to marry your son!"
As expected, Finn fell off his chair (armrest). Carole clapped a hand over her mouth. Burt looked... unfazed.
"Before I answer that, let me ask you this: Will you stay with him through thick and thin? Kurt deserves the best, and if you hurt him, I will personally tear you limb from limb."
"Sir, you gave me that speech the first time Kurt brought me home for dinner. And my answer is the same: If I hurt him, I will present myself to you to be shot and torched by a flamethrower."
"Good boy. I give you my blessing."
Perfect. Now I just had to ask him.
It was going to be wonderful.

Three Days Later
"This is a disaster." I muttered.
I could tell that Kurt was trying really hard not to laugh. "Oh, come on! I think it's sweet. And you don't look that bad."
"Kurt, I have soy sauce in my hair!"
He burst out laughing.
"Nice to see you find my humiliation funny." I muttered.
"S-Sorry!" Kurt gasped out between laughs. I sighed and sat on a nearby bench.
"I just... Wanted tonight to be perfect, y'know?"
The laughter subsided. "Blaine, you are one dapper, oblivious man. Tonight wasperfect."
I looked up at the sincere expression on his face.
"R-Really?"
"Yeah. For me, it was." He leaned over and kissed me. "Just like you."
I smiled. Then, my hand was in my coat pocket, and my fingers wrapped around the box.
"Hey... back up a little."
He frowned, confused. "Why?"
"J-Just... just do it, okay?"
He didn't seem convinced, but he did as I asked. I stood up, then dropped to one knee.
Kurt's eyes became the size of dinner plates.
"Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, I love you more than anything. Will you make me the happiest man alive," I opened the box. "And marry me?"
He stood in frozen shock for a second. Then he lunged at me.
"YES! YES, YES, A BILLION TIMES YES!" He yelled, embracing me.
I laughed. Kurt was right. Tonight was perfect.
