Hello everyone for another little story! This is very short but I had the prompt, the first snow of winter. There was going to be nothing more than Harry and Draco watching snow fall together but then the roof came and then... well I don't want to ruin it for you... :)

The First Snow of Winter at Hogwarts

Quote of the Day: "And Percy was shaking his brother, and Ron was kneeling beside them, and Fred's eyes stared without seeing, the ghost of his last laugh still etched upon his face."

It's Christmas Eve and Harry is alone, wandering the corridors of the castle without any of his friends. They've all gone home this Christmas, as it is their last Christmas before they leave school for good. Both of them invited him home with them but he declined knowing that he couldn't intrude on their families forever, no matter how little they minded. It's cold as he walks but he ploughs onwards taking his daily walk all around the castle.

Suddenly his hand is grabbed by one colder and softer than his own and he is dragged. Harry looks around to find it is Draco dragging him from his routine taking him God knows where. He doesn't resist either, happy to be pulled along with the flow. Draco drags him for a long time until they get to a small classroom which he leads him inside.

From there he heads to the window which he throws open and for one scary second he wonders if he is going to jump. Then he notices that you can get to the roof from there and wonders if that is what Draco is doing. Draco pulls him over to the window then climbs out onto the roof. Harry waist a second and then follows him smiling happily, wondering why they are doing this. Draco drags him all the way up to the top of the roof until there is a little dip just big enough for them to sit in.

They sit next to each other for a few hours waiting for something; Harry doesn't know what. He tries to speak a few times but Draco stops him by holding up a hand and shaking his head with his eyes closed. Eventually his eyes shoot open and he takes Harry's hand and holds it out. Harry looks at his hand and as they both watch a single snowflake lands on it.

"The first snowflake of winter at Hogwarts," Draco comments. They watch together as the snowflake melts into his hand until there is just a droplet of water left. Then Draco places his hand in Harry's and they sit there together until the morning sun rises. Harry turns to Draco.

"Happy Christmas, Draco," Harry whispers.

"Happy Christmas, Harry," Draco replies. "I told you I would come back and see you at Christmas. I'll always love you Harry Potter."

Then Draco stands in the alcove and walks off the roof into the open sky where he floats away like a cloud. Harry sighs. Draco may be gone, but never forever.

Thanks for reading and sorry it was so short, but I just wanted something light as I am dying from lack of ideas on my current multi-chapter stories :'(
