Many mysteries and beauties had been born from The World, and, in return, The World had reached out with claws masked as gentle, loving hands. It was difficult to escape those claws. They ripped and tore even as they whispered seductive words in to ears that were desperately seeking answers.
She had never been obsessed or addicted to The World. The World had been a digital escape; a way to run and hide from the abuse, neglect, and sorrow that existed in the real world.
The World had loved her. The World had used her. The World had tossed her aside.
She begged and pleaded for freedom, but was never heard.
At first it had only been dreams that had returned her to that beautiful, seductive prison. It was in dreams that Tsukasa once again walked The World. It did not take long for those dreams to leak in to the waking world, revealing nothing but The World to horrified eyes.
No child would be forgotten.
Author's Note: Well, that was an interesting one to write. This actually came out of an idea for a full fanfic that I was writing in 2003. I had written up to about 2 chapters from the end when the notebook I had written it all in was accidentally thrown out. I kind of lost inspiration to rewrite it at that point. ;; The first two chapters are still on though. The title is hackTEARS if anyone is interested. Anyway, I wanted to do something with this idea, so here's a quick drabble. Who knows, maybe I'll finally be inspired to rewrite the full fic.
