Me: Just to get on with it, I'll do the disclaimer.

Piper's POV

My heart pounded, I now knew why there wasn't anything more powerful then love. His now cold blue eyes stared me down. Apparently, the life of a roman soldier was more important than me. Until retiring to the city, love was a weakness, and when the retirement comes, he would have already forgotten about the one he abandoned, me.

Whom would I be able to go to? Thalia? No, she would take Jason's defense. Annabeth might help but she was busy with Percy. Leo? No, he knows nothing about love. The Romans wouldn't want to side with a 'filthy Greek' rather than their leader and like Leo the boys that came with us know nothing about love. I acted normal the rest of the day plotting my escape.

That night I packed my stuff along with a small package Aphrodite had sent me. In it was a tin of cookies and a farewell card, my eyes welled up with tears in the card was a picture of all my friends together at Camp Half-Blood all making cheesy smiles for the camera. I put the things away and in two hours when everyone in every cohort was asleep I slipped away un-noticed and in a while, found a little meadow to set up camp.
