"Bitch." Anna muttered after the beating she took from her mother. She was now officially late for school. She had about five minutes and she still had to get ready. She woke up and her mother started beating her. She got changed and ran off to school. People were staring at her. Probably at the bruises on her arms. She didn't have time to find a sweater.
The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask

Finally school ended and she walked to the park. She sat down on a bench and watched as little kids playing with their mothers. How she wanted to be able to do that with her mom. But she was just a mistake. A boy sat down next to her. "Hi." He said. "Hi." "My name is Yoh." He said happily. For once in her life, Anna felt…happy.

Anna went home and sat in her room for hours staring out the window. "Hi." Said a familiar voice. She looked up and saw Yoh in the next house. "Hi." She smiled. They started to talk and again Anna felt happy. "What are you doing!" Her mother came into her room. She started screaming. Yoh just looked up at the sky.
Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbours hear but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late
Anna screamed and tears were running down her face as her mother kept punching her. She felt so weak and defenseless. She knew she was going to die this time. She knew she wasn't going to make it this time.

Concrete Angel
When the neighbours stopped hearing screaming they went into Anna's house and found it empty. No one was there. When they got to Anna's room they found her lying on the floor dead. There was blood everywhere.

An angel girl with an upturned face
Her name was written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot
Many people were gathered around her grave praying for her including Yoh. He stared at her gravestone with sad eyes. He wished he could've done something but it was impossible. He wouldn't have been able too.

Yoh looked up at the sky for a minute and then decided he should leave. He went through the person in front of him and saw Anna in front of him smiling. He smiled back and he hugged her. Then Yoh grabbed her by the hand and ran over to some of his other friends. She got a warm welcome. Everyone was talking to her. Now she was truly happy.
