After the excitement of the championship game, Troy and Gabriella walked out to Troy's secret hide-away. Troy stood by the railing with Gabriella in his arms, both of them staring at the stars.
"It's been amazing tonight." said Troy looking at Gabriella with a smile.
"It has, better than kindergarten." Gabriella replied smiling back while looking at him.
"Definitely."
As Gabriella's smile became bigger, a shooting star past overhead. Both the young couples' heads turned upward.
"Did you see that?" Gabriella said looking at Troy.
"Yeah, a perfect way to end tonight."
They started to lean into each other and very slowly their lips met one another's. The two held it for a minute, just enough to feel the compassion in it. They pulled away from each other with wide smiles upon their faces. Troy hugged Gabriella tighter as they looked to the heavens.
Both of them knew that their silent wish upon that shooting star had just occurred.
