Coffeehouse of Memories

A spin-off of Sukiyaki by BlueBow, "Coffeehouse of Memories" details events surrounding Café Sinatra, particularly part-timer Brent Wilson, leading up to the events of Sukiyaki Season 1 (an AU of Stardust Crusaders). When the café's cover is blown, Brent must work with other Stand users to defend his workplace while coming face to face with his past—literally. (art by Sekond Star)

1. Foreword

Please do not read this one-shot unless you have read Sukiyaki Season 1 by BlueBow (available here on FanFiction .Net) and "I Look to You" from BlueBow's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Oneshots (also available here on FanFiction .Net). This story contains scenes depicting violent and sexual content that is not sectioned off by slashes; read at your own discretion. If you wish to skip the sexual content, you may skip to the next line break after the following sentence: "The flashback ended midsentence." If you wish to skip the torturous content, you may skip some text after the following sentence: "The next scene returned to the room with a single chair"; pick back up with the section beginning in this sentence: "Michel blinked, and the scene changed again."

At the time of my writing this, my good friend BlueBow has completed Sukiyaki Season 1, the first half of her Sukiyaki series, a fanfic of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. Currently, she's working on a series of one-shots related to Sukiyaki as well as Sukiyaki Season 2. I've been a beta reader and editor for Sukiyaki for over a year now, and one of the characters in Sukiyaki, Brent "Willy" Wilson, was (according to BlueBow) inspired by me, so I thought I'd try my hand at contributing to this slew of one-shots.

With BlueBow's blessing, I wrote "Coffeehouse of Memories" about Café Sinatra, a group of BlueBow's OCs featured in her one-shot, "I Look to You," after which "Coffeehouse of Memories" takes place. It also takes place directly before the first chapter of Sukiyaki Season 1, "I'm on a Boat,"and includes reimagined depictions of scenes from "Showtime," the prologue of Sukiyaki Season 1. "Coffeehouse of Memories" (including these alterations) is of course fanon in terms of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but it is considered canon in terms of Sukiyaki (at BlueBow's own declaration).

Finally, this one-shot features OCs from a different JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fan fiction by WindSymphony titled ReBirth, which also takes place in the same universe as Sukiyaki. Fleetwood Mac, Hanako Garner, and Soibhan are all OCs from ReBirth and are not my creations; I included them with WindSymphony's blessing. Brent Wilson, Frank Moon, Margret, Lyn Aizumi, Whit Houston (Brando), Suki Kanao, Kyuu Kanao, Yui Kanao, Michel Jackson, Michel Jackson's grandmother, Minaj Goh, Ellelle Cool Jay, Exit 13's user, Bim Cash, and their respective Stands were all created by BlueBow and were included with her blessing; B-52 and Rock Lobster were designed by me, but B-52 is an extrapolation of the unnamed (and relatively undescribed) gunman briefly featured in "Walk Like an Egyptian - Part Three," the final chapter of Sukiyaki Season 1.

Both BlueBow and WindSymphony served as editors for "Coffeehouse of Memories," and each of them signed off on the story before I published it here to ensure that my narrative is consistent with their own.
