After dinner at Memory Lane Freddy and Katie headed home. They pulled to a stop at a stoplight. When it changed to green they moved across the intersection when a speeding car ran into the drivers side of their sports car.

The horrible sound of metal on metal and smashing glass filled Katie's ears. When it finally stopped she looked over at Freddy, to see if he was okay. What she saw made her stomach turn and she was almost sick.

Her husband had blood trickling out of the side of his mouth, and his legs were covered by the twisted metal of the car, his arms were twisted in a way that no arms should and his head was victim to a huge gash.

"Freddy!" Katie screamed "Freddy, please wake up." She noticed that sirens were blearing outside the mangled car and lights were flashing. She looked closer at Freddy and noticed that he wasn't breathing. "Freddy, no."

There was a crunching sound that shocked her. She realized that the police were freeing her and Freddy using the Jaws-of-Life.

After they got her out she was led to the back of an ambulance to be checked over. "I'm fine," Katie told the ambulance driver. "I want to know how my husband is."

The ambulance driver's face went white. "I think that you need to know something."

Katie started to panic. She looked around for Freddy. She saw a stretcher. On it was the shape of Freddy's body. It was covered from head to toe in a white blanket.

"No," Katie moaned. She started stumbled towards the stretcher. On the white blanket were massive splotches of red. It was Freddy's blood. She uncovered Freddy's head and took his hand, to say a final goodbye.

End Flashback

Katie turned her face to the ceiling once more, tears running down her checks. She was wishing with all of her heart that that night had never happened.

Whenever she closed her eyes she was haunted by the sight of Freddy's mangled body in the car, and the shape of it covered with a blanket. She will never forget the sound of the crunching metal of their sports car. Lastly she will never forget her husband.

A look into the future

The driver of the car that killed Freddy was found to be driving drunk. He was arrested and also was disabled from the waist down.
