"Silly girl. You're so much more than a Cavendish. You're Diana. My Diana."
What a strange feeling, Diana thought quietly as she watched Akko practice her transformation spells a few yards away. The girl had that look on her face, the one that reminded Diana of a deeply determined puppy.
And just like that, she was smiling. The Cavendish heiress found herself doing a lot more of it lately, and she's glad for the change.
Leaning back against the tree shading her from the summer sun, she resumed her musings.
Thinking on it, Diana was honestly at a loss considering how much has happened. The Seven Words and the unlocking of the Grand Triskelion aside, so much else has come to pass.
To think that falling in love is also included on that list…
Diana smiled again, more softly. At last, she figured out what she was feeling. It was gratitude.
All Diana wanted to do was express her thanks. All the smiles. All the laughter. The life she's living now was just… happy.
And even though Akko vehemently says otherwise, Diana isn't sure what she did to deserve all this. Thus, without any other options, she looked again at her girlfriend, who at some point had made her way over to where Diana was seated.
Thank you.

Thanks, Diana.
For keeping me out of too much trouble. For covering for me when things were clearly my fault.
For always having my back.
I'm only able to be so carefree because of you, you know.

And so we just sat there. Side by side. As we always are. As we always will be.
She is the air beneath my sail, the light-
"-ana? Diana? Earth to Diana!" a hand waved in front of my face.
"H-huh?!" I said with my usual panache and eloquence.
"You were derping out on me again," Akko stated flatly. Her eyes practically oozed with bemusement.
That… was not a look I was accustomed to receiving, honestly.
"How dare you. Diana Cavendish does not 'derp out'. My paramour you may be, but I will not tolerate such-mrrrblfl!"
Gah! Damn you and your snake tongue, Kagiri!
"Right. Anyways, how bout some lunch? I saw a nice little cafe on the way over here that we could try."
I sighed, a combination of annoyance, resignation and in order to catch my breath. "That sounds lovely, Akko."
A/N:
Sigh. I really do enjoy these two. Canon presented us with something to work with, and the fandom just took off with it. Diakko has truly been a joy to read.
