What to do?
A Poem
Lizmybit 2/21/03
Cold gray water, Big white ship A voice saying "all now is ready."
I know not what to do.
Everything happens so fast "I do not understand, where are you going?"
I know not what to do.
I cannot come? Your voice saying "Not yet Sam, maybe someday" I am torn.
I know not what to do
You say I must go on but how? I cannot without you. You were my purpose for so long
I know not what to do.
Yet I have Rosie, Elanor and more children to come And the Shire, yes the Shire But without you will it still be the shire?
I know not what to do
Your hand grasps mine, You look into my eyes. You say it must be so for now, You kiss my cheek and turn away.
I know not what to do
Cold gray water, big white ship Slips away into darkness I ride slowly home, "I am back"
I now know what to do.
