Prompt #406 from tamingthemuse- Diaglyph

Note: From now on most of my tamingthemuse stories will be named as the challenge.

"Xander? Luv? Come see what I bought!" Spike called out as he walked into the apartment he shared with Xander. Well it was more Xander's apartment as they weren't officially living together… yet.

Xander walked out of the bathroom after doing human things. Disgusting human things Spike didn't like to think about. "Hey, baby, what's all the hoopla?"

Spike held a package that was flat and at least three feet by four feet. "I bought a painting!"

"That's great, Spike. But why did you bring it here?" Xander asked as he watched Spike rip the wrapping off the painting. His eye bulged out of his head when he saw the painting. "What the hell is that?"

"It is diaglyph art," Spike answered. "And as to why I brought it here, I spend so much of my time here anyway I thought why not."

Xander couldn't help but stare at it. "It's Donkey Kong."

"Neat, yeah?" Spike asked. "Come on, where should be put it?"

"Oh… um… I don't know." Xander looked around 'trying' to find a spot for this picture. "Are you sure you don't want it at you're place?"

Spike turned to Xander a frown marred his face. "Why? I mean I practically live here anyway, yeah? Do you have a problem with this?"

"No!" Xander answered a little too quickly for Spike's liking.

"Really? Then what's the sodding problem?" Spike asked as he set the painting down so he could cross his arms over his chest. "Do you not want me here?"

Xander rushed over to Spike. "No, that's not it. It's just this is big. Like having your own drawer big."

"And that's bad?" Spike asked confused.

"No, but we haven't even talked about it. I mean isn't this something we should discuss?" Xander asked.

Spike tilted his head and thought about it. He honestly didn't know. When he was turned he immediately moved in with Drusilla, Angelus and Darla. Then with Harmony he had nowhere else to go so he moved in with her, there had been no asking. Spike just assumed that was how this worked. "I don't know," Spike answered truthfully.

"Alright-y than. Just to amuse me let's talk about it, okay?" Xander guided Spike over to the couch.

"I really want this painting here," Spike said as he sat down. "I like the thought of coming here and there being something of mine here." He paused then continued. "I want my own drawer as well."

"You don't think it's too soon? I mean we've only been dating a couple months," Xander explained.

That didn't make any sense to Spike. "We've known each other for at least five years and we've already lived together twice back in Sunnydale. I think me having a drawer should have happened when we started shagging."

"You know I hate it when you call it that," Xander complained. "But I can understand your point. And if you want to have your own drawer and some of your own stuff here I'd be really happy."

Spike smiled at that. Xander had, had him scared for a minute. "I do want that."

Xander nodded and kissed Spike. "Then I'll make sure a drawer is cleaned out for you when you come by tomorrow."

"That's all I want," Spike said. "And this painting. Be a lamb and go get a hammer and nail." He stood up and picked up the picture. It would look great on the wall connected to the bedroom.

With a sigh Xander stood up. He couldn't complain after all he had a bunch of Star Trek memorabilia. "Sure, Spike, whatever you say," Xander said before heading off to the kitchen.

Spike hid his grin. This was going to be great.

The End
