Everytime We Touch, a castle fanfic

Hey, I got this tune stuck in my head the whole day so I thought I put pen to paper and see how it'd work.

Rick turned over to watch his sleeping beauty sleep soundly next to him. He had dreamt of this moment all his life, to just turn in bed and see the love of his life lay there next to him.

He could still hear her voice yelling at him to keep fighting, but fight for what? He was here, so was she. Everything was fine. He remembered the day they caught the killer. She had turned up on his doorstep their night and from that first kiss and that first touch, he knew that they were destined for each other. Gathering her in his arms, he fell asleep.

Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky.
They wipe away tears that I cry. (I cry)
The good and the bad times, we've been through them all.
You make me rise when I fall.

Kate awoke in the middle of the night, sweating profusely. She had just had the most horrid nightmare. She had dreamt that the man currently sleeping next to him had died of a bullet and she was trying to save him but couldn't.

His arms were around her and she felt safe and secure. Hot and heavy tears had started and soon, her shirt and his arms were wet with her tears. Rick suddenly woke to warm water being splashed on his arms. Kate was sitting in bed crying her eyes out while he was just lying there. He felt horrible.

Rick gathered Kate into his arms and silently placed a kiss on her cheek.

"I'm sorry."

She collapsed into his arms and they stayed like this for the rest of the night.

The sun was streaming through the window when Alexis and Martha had entered the master bedroom that morning. What they saw made their faces light up. Alexis took a quick snapshot and they both quietly left the room.

When Rick and Kate made their way downstairs that same morning, a large picture greeted them on the wall.

"What the? Lexi! Did you do that?"

Alexis came round the corner and looked to see where they were staring.

"Oh, that. Pretty neat huh? I took a snapshot of you two this morning, sent it in to Jeannie, and she dropped it off half an hour ago, all framed."

Alexis and Rick turned towards the kitchen, bantering lightly, leaving Kate standing in front of the picture. She ran her fingers over it and left soon after.

The picture showed Kate and Rick, huddle under the blankets, one arm draped over another, sleeping soundly, with grins plastered to their face.
