Helmet under Hat

She was born to be a princess, not a fighter.

She wanted to be a princess, not a fighter.

But, in reality, people didn't always get what they wanted, and often they didn't stay in the roles assigned by society, either.

They couldn't escape the roles assigned by fate, however. And fate had made her a fighter. An inescapable role, and she fell right into place despite how they all struggled.

She struggled first, of course. She'd been raised to be something else entirely, but the circumstances forced her to accept, and learn.

Her parents took longer, but eventually they had to accept it as well.

She wasn't a princess. She was a fighter.

That hat didn't hide a crown on her head, but a helmet.

No matter how many times she protested otherwise, or walked away, she'd pick up the sword again.
