Young

He is so young,

And full of life.

Too young to live this life.

He is happy,

And energetic.

Way to young to see such sadness.

He sees so much,

There is so much.

Too much for his young eyes to see.

I am just a ranger,

A stranger to him.

But his young eyes, trusting still.

He will grow,

He will change.

Too fast for a young boy.

By the end,

He will understand.

More than his young mind should comprehend.

He may still be young,

But old, he will be.

Young at heart I hope he stays.

Should this be happening?

Why go through this?

Such torture for the young.

He knows he needs to help,

He can feel it.

Young can be so courageous.

I hope he makes it through this.

He is too young.

Too young to die in a strange land.

With everything that is happening,

He will never be the same.

His young eyes have seen too much.

I fear he is now,

No longer the child he was.

No longer young, for he has seen too much.
