Seifer doesn't listen.
When Matron tells him to stand in the corner for pulling Zell's hair, Seifer doesn't listen and makes a break for the door. He runs down the hill to the beach and skids to a stop when he sees Squall. Squall's on the sand, arms tucked behind his head and stormy eyes shut off to the world.
He tells Seifer to go away. Seifer doesn't listen.
Later that night when they're trying to go to sleep, Seifer's foot nudges Squall's.
"Don't touch me," Squall says.
Seifer doesn't listen. Squall hits him with his pillow.
When they're teenagers, Seifer still doesn't listen and he still gets in trouble for it.
Xu tells Seifer he'll never be a SeeD. As he hangs his head, Squall wishes for the first time that Seifer would do what Seifer always does. But he doesn't.
Seifer listens.
