House limped down the hospital halls into the elevator with an angry Cuddy mere inches behind him. He smiled slightly to himself as he noticed the other Hospital employees stare at him with a mixture of awe and shock and scramble to clear a path for Cuddy. It was common sense to stay the hell out of her way when she was angry, especially when House was within a few feet of her.
"House, come on"
"No."
"I only need-"
"No."
"A short speech"
"No."
"Just for the committee dinner!"
"No no no no no no no!"
"Dammit House! Why do you have to be such a stubborn bastard?!?!" Cuddy sighed exasperately.
"Why do you have to be such a pain in the ass?" he countered, popping a few Vicodin pills down.
Cuddy glared at him for a few moments before breaking away. "Fine, be that way." She turned around, moving to head out of the elevator back to her own office. But before she could exit, House lifted his cane in front of her, preventing her from going any further. He stared into her grey eyes for a moment and sighed. "Fine, I'll do the damn speech."
Cuddy raised her eyebrows in suspicion. There had to be a catch. She opened her mouth to respond but House cut her off. "Don't worry, it'll be a decent speech so I don't embarrass you in front of your beloved colleagues."
"Why the change of heart?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
House smiled. She was so adorable when she thought he was up to something. He shrugged nonchalantly. "You're a pain in the ass Cuddy." He leaned in closer to her, memorizing every perfect detail of the face he had spent years dreaming and longing for. "But you're my pain the ass." He whispered to her before leaning down and kissing her gently. Before she could respond, he pulled away and hobbled out of the elevator down to his office, leaving a blushing, but very pleased dean of medicine behind.
