INTRODUCTION
"Hey!" A small blond boy ran after the other laughing children, "Wait for me!"
"Are you sure you want to reach out to them?"
"Huh?" The boy paused at the voice, blinking his large cerulean eyes
"I know you're lonely, but are you sure you want to reach out to them?" The Voice continued.
The boy's expression grew worried "But if we don't-"
"But if you do and they abandon you . . ."
"Like everyone else did . . ." The boy whispered, curling a hand towards his chest.
"Can you handle your heart breaking again?" The Voice asked softly.
The boy's voice turned pleading, "But . . ."
"There's nothing wrong with being alone" The Voice whispered sweetly,
"You don't have to risk baring your heart to anyone."
"You won't have to get hurt anymore . . ."
o0O0o0O0o0O0o
The other children turned, still laughing,
"Hey, sorry! What did you say?"
A pause
"Hello?"
But the boy was gone.
