Here follows the account of Tosto Boffin member of the Hobbitry in arms.
Finally we came, I think tomorrow is going to be the great day. Our chief Adelad Tuc, cousin to our Thain Ferumbras III, is getting more and more exited and worried.
Everything begun yesterday evening when a spy of ours from Bree reported of five oddly dressed wanderers at Prancing Pony's. Nothing is official but rumors say that they were Gandalf the wizard and four Hobbits: Peregrin, Thain's son, Meriadoc Brandybuck, Frodo Baggins, Bilbo nephew and his gardener Sam, Gaffer's son.
This time things can really change, and we cannot lose this opportunity.
Tomorrow we will free the shire, it is time for our people to stand up and defeat the oppressor.
Most of the people don't have the courage and the will to rebel and, thinking they are no match, they got resigned and keep standing. Few refused this situation, I'm one of them. Until now we hid and stealthy helped the people. We gave them food, the little we managed to collect, we kept in contact families, we gave the people the strength to endure, we freed some prisoners and we never stopped to prepare people to fight.
Two days ago two of ours were surprised while they were spreading some goods house by house in Bywater. Sharkey's henchmen took them to Bag end.
Oh Sharkey, curse you! It doesn't matter who you are: you will pay for all the ill you did!
People can't stand anymore. The return of the four can really be the turning point of our resistance.
Whatever shall be shall be. Our hope is an odd fellowship of Hobbits we thought lost for ever and a folk very lazy to get angered.
In the heart of each hobbit there is a sleeping lion, waiting for the time to roar.
