A/N: I'm not really Scottish, just part Scottish. If you've never read the
ballad
"The Cremation of Sam McGee" this is a little remake of it. I don't own the
original ballad or Lord of the Rings. I just had to do this for Language
Arts
and thought it was funny enough to publish.
"The not so Cremation of Samwise Gamgee."
There are strange things done in the rising sun
by hobbits who have traveled brave;
The Mordor trails have their secret tales
that would frighten you to the grave.
Lord Sauron's eye on a tower high
has yet to see
In the dark gloom of Mount Doom
the not so cremation of Samwise Gamgee.
Now Sam Gamgee from Hobbiton he be
where hobbits dance and sing.
He dropped eaves while raking leaves
and heard of a dark ring.
Now he travels while his sanity unravels
to help Frodo destroy the ring.
He dreadfully knows from his head to his toes
they must destroy the awful thing.
Through enchanted woods with many goods
created by the Elves,
Through the Moria Mines where countless times
the Dwarves have deeper delved.
Running from Orcs with sharp pitchforks
they enter the Mordor land.
Pursuing on from night until dawn
to destroy the golden band.
In the glowing gloom the reached Mount Doom
Sam turned to Frodo and said,
"I'll die here I dreadfully fear
that I'm going to lose my head."
And with a sigh Sam said good-bye
and died upon the dirt.
Frodo cried because Sam died,
the pain he felt had hurt.
Frodo climbed to the top not wanting to stop
until he destroyed the ring,
He reached the edge and trew it over the ledge
glad to be rid of the thing.
As the sun started to rise Frodo got a surprise
as he climbed out of the cave,
For standing on his head eating Lembas bread
was none other than Samwise the Brave.
There are strange things done in the rising sun
by hobbits who have traveled brave,
The Mordor trails have their secret tales
that would frighten you to the grave.
Lord Sauron's eye on a tower high
has yet to see
In the gloom of Mount Doom
the not so cremation of Samwise Gamgee.
Hope you liked it. It was the first ballad I've ever wrote and published.
Please r/r.
