Garmadon gasped, realizing what he had done. He pulled the knife out, tossing it aside. "Lloyd, n-no!" Tears rolled down his face as he fell to his knees, clutching Lloyd against him. "What have I done...!?" He sobbed. "I-I'm so s-sorry... Forgive me! Please! Why did it have to come to this?! I CAN'T lose you! I JUST CAN'T! "
"Dad...I forgive you for everything you've done...but...I...can't...I can't stay for long..." Lloyd whispered weakly, wincing in pain from the stab and blood loss. "I love you so much..."
Garmadon couldn't say anything, too consumed with the grief of losing his son. Me too...
"I don't want to go..." Lloyd cried weakly, his voice shaking with fear.
Garmadon nodded, clutching Lloyd's hand with his own, very lightly sobbing. "I love you...I'll miss you..." He let out a soft sigh, struggling to keep his voice steady enough, he had to be strong...for Lloyd. "I don't want you to leave me so early... You're just so young... I want to stay forever with you...but it's just...it's just not meant to be... You have no idea how much I want to be normal again...I just..." Tears slowly fell from his eyes, landing on his son's bloody gi.
"Dad..." Lloyd let out a shuddering breath. "I...can't...hold on...much...longer..."
"Shhhh... Don't use your energy up yet..." he soothed, never letting go of his dear son. "I'm here, and I will stay."
Lloyd's breathing grew fainter, his eyes slowly closing, his body losing warmth. "Dad... I...love...you... Goodbye..." he sighed, his life leaving in that last breath. His body went limp.
"N-No...Lloyd!" Garmadon cried, "Lloyd, please no! Don't leave...DON'T LEAVE!" His voice grew louder with desperation. His words fell into sobs as he rocked slightly, holding his son close, tears mixing with blood. He was devastated, feeling part of himself dying too. Why did you have to leave me? We were so close...we could've been like that again. But in that last moment, a golden light emanated from his son's body, surrounding him. He had changed. He was no longer evil, but it still hurt too much. "Thank you..." he choked out, still clearly shaken.
Nothing would ever be the same again.
