"Things that go Bump in the Night"

AN:Thanks to everyone who reviewed all of my stories! (Megi52, Twilight Rose2) This is a fic in honor of Halloween, and written randomly. I was in a good mood. i have noticed all of my fics so fare begin with Toph's point of view. It seems to work better. You can easily figure out who is speaking after the break line.
What are you afraid of? I thought I was fearless until I fell into water for the first time, and I walked on ice. I thought I was fearless until TyLee rendered me truly blind for once. I was fearless until I felt searing flames 12 inches from my face. I had thought I was fearless, and I made everyone else think that too. In a way.
"Toph, what are you afraid of?" I asked.
"Nothing," she answered placidly, probably trying to hide any emotion.
"What are you afraid of Snoozles?"
"Nothing," I answered as serenely as I could. I knew this would get to her, and I was right.
"Come on, I know you are afraid of something. Everyone is."
"If everyone is, then you should be afraid of something too."
She paused for a moment.
"I'll tell you what I'm afraid of if you tell me!"
"Fine. You go first."
"No, you."
"I'm afraid of... Snakes. and the dark. And lack of meat. And-"
"God! You said NOTHING! Snakes, the dark, lack of meat, etc! You're such a wimp, Sokka."
"Your turn."
She once again paused.
"I don't like... times when..."
Her voice grew soft at this.
"When I can't see."
I laughed a little at this.
"It's not funny!"
"I know. But you know, Toph, whenever you can't see, I can promise you something."
"What?"
"I'll be there, and I'll be your eyes."
"Promise?"
I interlaced my pinky with hers.
"Promise."
Yay! All done! I randomly did this one for no reason...
