The Perfect Healer, The Perfect Killer

Sakura watched as the man's lifeless body hit the floor. Blood dripped from the man's eyes and mouth, marring the deathly pale of his skin.

Wrapped in the cold numbness of what she had done, the kunoichi looked at her blood-covered hand. She had healed uncountable people with this hand. And now she had taken a life with that same tool.

Barely breathing, Sakura stared at her hand, before here eyes slowly slid to the body lying beyond it.

Black hair spilled out to form a sort of demonic halo around the bloodstained head.

Feeling a tingling in her throat, Sakura collapsed against the wall, retching up the breakfast her mother had so lovingly prepared. After a few minutes, the girl wiped her mouth clean on her hand, mind finally realizing exactly what had just happened.

"You should have realized," she whispered, staring at the body with amazement. "You should have realized…"

A loud crash resounded from her right, causing Sakura to turn her head.

Two familiar boys stood there, one of them clutching his neck as if something there pained him.

"Sakura!" the blond cried, rushing forward.

The pink hared girl smiled sadly at Naruto.

"He should have known, he was her teammate after all," she whispered, eyes sliding over the corpse.

"He should have known, that the best healer… is always the best killer."

The three teammates stared at the body of Orochimaru, watching the blood seep out to stain the floor.

"Sakura…" both boys whispered, as the kunoichi crumpled.

The kunoichi felt strong arms catch her before she hit the floor, as her eyes clouded with darkness. Before blackness consumed her, Sakura looked up at Sasuke.

And as she slipped into unconsciousness, Sakura had to smile. His eyes were so wide with shock that she could see her entire face in them.

Are you surprised, Sasuke? She pondered to herself. Surprised that annoying Sakura would be the one to kill him?

Or were you as ignorant of a healer's talents as your master was?

The girl's eyes looked up at him, noting that the mark on his neck was burning away, as if being dissolved by acid.

He must be in a lot of pain.

With her last amount of strength, the kunoichi clung to conciousness and lifted her hand to rest gently on his neck. Concentrating, she pushed the small amount of chakra she had left into the spot, to soothe the pain.

"Now Sasuke," Sakura said, hand falling from his neck, leaving a bloody mark on his pale skin, "will you come back home?"

She never heard the answer, as the numbness finally consumed her mind.

But Naruto did.

Sasuke closed his eyes, before looking again at his deceased mentor, and then again at the girl in his arms.

"Yeah," he said, in a soft, annoyed voice.

The blond at his side grinned, and let out a whoop of joy as Konoha Ninja swarmed into the building, with Tsunade in the lead.
