Notes: I am currently re-editing this story! This is the edited version! :)

It's very hot in here. I thought as I wiped the mist of sweat off my forehead for the umpteenth time today. I knew I should've worn something that wouldn't leave me literally melting in my seat here, but noooo, I just had to put on pants because I hate showing off skin. That's how I normally roll: Deema Mallory; the edgy and outgoing Caucasian chick with the big curly, curly blonde hair and the sparkling clean, water blue eyes.

I'll tell you a bit about myself since I've gotten your attention; I use to live in Los Angeles, California with my mother for a couple of years until she met her new love of her life, Maddie Jones. Maddie is a pretty awesome gal for taking care of us - not to mention she made it quite easy to get use to having two mothers around. I know for certain that she doesn't make it obvious when we're in public, not that I would mind if she did, but it would really be great if they held hands or something because they often get mistaken for sisters and it irritates me. I am actually content with my mother's decision to date her. I mean, as long as she's making her happy I see no reason to complain.

Eventually Maddie used her charming personality to convince my mother to move back to Bubbletucky with her and we continued to live here ever since - despite the haunting past we had left behind. The damage my father done to us still lingers in the back of my mind, but I often distract it with the one thing I can always forget about it all...

A freshly decorated envelope was extended to me waiting for me to accept it. I turn and my eyes rose to meet the handsome student's grin, in which I couldn't help but reflect the same mischievous expression back at him.

"I want you to come to my party tonight." he declared confidently. I nodded and swiftly took the thick paper envelope in my hands. I smelled the crisp aroma that emerged from the invitation as I opened it up while glancing around the room. The students surrounding me started to whisper amongst themselves while looking over at the two of us. The invitation spurts with glitter as I pulled it out the envelope and it read:

'Jax's Pre-Summer Soiree'

When: 10pm

Where: 112 Water Rd

Dress Casual - No Fights - Dance or Stay Home

I snickered at the word 'soiree', I couldn't hold it in. Think about it; a huge, tough muscular man who consistently uses patois on a daily basis using a fancy schmancy word like 'soiree'. He's gotta be looking for some kind of reaction from me. I better respond accordingly.

"A soiree?" I uttered aloud in a sweet, curious tone. "I've never been to one before, mind filling me in?"

"It's a party where you usually dress formally but instead of that, it'll be casual. There'll be food, drinks and of course live music to entertain my guests. I hope I'll be seeing you there tonight."

"Depends. Can I invite my friend, Nicole? I doubt you invited her and I want her to come with."

Jax scratches the back of his neck anxiously and his eyes flicked to the left, "Well… I was aiming to only bring in a couple of people… I wasn't expecting this party to be big."

I shrugged my shoulders and sat up straight on my chair. "That's okay. If she can't go then I won't go. Sorry."

"Perhaps," Jax said, sighing afterwards. "I can squeeze in one more person on my list, I don't see any issue there. It's always nice to see new faces anyhow."

I narrowed my eyes at him. Something about this guy is… suspicious. He's too nice. No one is this nice unless they want something… or maybe I'm judging him too hard. He's hot so why wouldn't I trust him.

"Alright, we'll see you tonight."

He extended his hand to me and within seconds I leaped two seats away from him, crashing into two very annoyed students. "Is something wrong? Do I smell bad?" he asked anxiously. Jax had always been the type of guy who make sure his hygiene is in check, so I probably hurt his feelings in a way.

"N-no, I…"

"Don't worry Jax, you smell finer than a bottle of sandalwood cologne." golden blonde headed Samantha Bucketts said while saucily eyeing Jax. "This freak is afraid of physical contact from anyone whatsoever."

"So she says. But I think she made it up to keep people from knowing that she's a total floozy." said another girl with long wavy buttermilk blonde hair by the name of Courtney Brown who spoke with a southern drawl whenever she opens her mouth.

"We all know her dirty little secret Courtney," Victoria Taylor says leaning towards her. She rolls her eyes at me then neatly tucks a lengthy strand of royal purple hair behind her ear.

"It's not a secret if the teachers told you what happened to me. And stop treating me like that before I report all of you for harassment!" I seethed. Did I really just say that? What can the teachers possibly do? Summer vacation is just a bell away…

"Oh give it a rest Deema, we all know it's either all in your head or you're using that excuse to get attention! Don't think I didn't notice all of the teachers giving you leeway until you graduate." Samantha aggressively told me as if that had been bothering her all year. As if it's my fault.

"You are so nosy and rude! I am SO glad I won't be seeing you for the next four months." I say as I held up my hand at her and turning away.

With only a few minutes left until the final bell rings, my Psychology teacher entered the classroom with an excited smile on her face. Resting on her shoulder was some kind of tote bag filled to the brim with beach supplies. She took off her shades and looked at each and every one of us.

"Hello students, as you all know, today is the last day of school. Hope you all have made swell plans for your long vacation. I know I have." she opened her grade book for the last time this year and frowned after observing a few names. "Unfortunately, for the students that aren't doing well, you might wanna do the Summer diary along with the other students for extra credit. Hint hint."

I glanced at the student next to me and flashed a smug grin. "You might wanna do your Summer diary or you'll get left back, Aaron." I jeered at him as a joke.

Aaron Rodriguez is this Hispanic kid with hazel eyes and a five o'clock shadow which oddly looks good on him. He also has this beautiful long and curly dark brown hair, in which he constantly keeps it in a big, poofy ponytail. And his clear skin is a lovely shade of light bronze. I know this because he had been sitting next to me for a couple of years now. He would be my class partner for projects that he almost never help me with. He'd also constantly ask for my help, and occasionally tries to cheat off my tests. Good times.

"Deema please," Aaron responded with much confidence in his tone as he jotted a reminder down in his book. As if he's going to actually read it. "I have all the time in the world before the next semester to get this done. Watch me get this extra credit in no time!"

"Yeah, I'll watch you get it done the day before school starts again. Or not. We'll see." I say as I threw my purse on my shoulder.

Aaron uttered a mocking laugh and placed his white and black snapback on his head, "Deems, how can you not have faith in me? Soy un hombre cambiado! I am a changed man. No more slacking off for this guy." he replied as he struck his chest twice with his own fist.

The bell rung right on cue and students are already running down the hallway, unnecessarily tossing their classwork everywhere while screaming obnoxiously as if we don't do this every year. I gathered all of my items and got off my seat.

"Whatever you say. Just know I'm not going to be hanging around your house all Summer to help. I don't care how good your Mother's cooking is." I say to him as I left this prison of a classroom.

Yes! Finally! Last day of school, and it... is... SUMMERTIME! I'm gonna have a blast going to all of these parties I've been invited to! More than a blast, an explosion! It's been on my mind all day since I've received, like a million tweets, emails, texts, letters, and etcetera! My goal this year to make this Summer full of memorable experiences.

Everybody in my school desperately wanted me to go to their parties this year ever since they found out how much of a party animal I am. In order to make it possible for me to attend them all, they worked out a schedule. Basically starting tonight, I have a party to be at. I guess you can say this partying thing has become a bit of an obsession over time, but nonetheless it's my way to express who I am.

You wanna know what I love about it? The preparation, getting there, seeing familiar faces, listening to well known music, the dancing, singing along with the lyrics, the food, the drinks. Honestly, if it wasn't for parties, I would probably be an anti-social homebody. Watching hours of Grey's Anatomy or some dramatic television series on a couch and having no life.

As I skipped merrily through the lively halls to reach the front doors to outside, I happen to see my best friend, Nicole Mina, rushing past me without looking back. Her long black hair, dyed with pink highlights, bounced up and down on her light brown sugar colored shoulders and swayed every movement she made. The first thing I look at when she comes by is her outfit; her top with the usual hot pink color, light blue jeans and white/pink Jordans.

That girl is always so fashionable! Everything she wears are to die for, except for that color she chose. Damn, if I keep staring at that color, I swear it's gonna blind me one day. She had always been the shy type but she won't hesitate to become friends with anybody who gives her the time of day. But if you've been her best friend for three years like me, she'll sing and rap freestyles for you.

After following her out the bulky metal doors, Nicole eventually stopped by the crooked tree next to the large fountain in front of the campus to catch her breath. Wanting to get her attention, I raised my arm and waved it in hope she would at least spot me. But… she didn't see me, she looks up then just took off again.

I wonder what she's running from, I thought.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the whore herself, Deema Mallory." I heard the horrid voice owned by Laura Lawson, followed by snobby laughter. Big boned, sloppy, and nasty are the three words I can describe her as. Matter fact, add the word 'backstabber' on the list and you will get a better idea what kind of person she is. Her ear length short hair, that is currently falling out badly, is the color of brown raspberry and she tends to wear matching lipgloss with it.

I spun around to see the two familiar girls, Courtney and Victoria, standing behind Laura then I glanced down at this short, obese troll with bad hair. Her caramel orbs stare at me with disgust and I felt offended by that because in my opinion against hers, I look far better than her.

"What do you losers want? If you're looking for somewhere to dump yourselves, the garbage cans are back inside." I said as I pointed my thumb at the door to the school behind me. The pair of girls looked at each other then at Laura; expecting her to say something I presume.

"Enough talk. I know you know where Nicole is, so if you could do me a favor and kindly point to the direction she escaped to, I would gladly be out of your messy blonde mess you call hair, in no time." she told me while motioning her finger at my golden locks. How. Dare. She. Insult. The. Hair. The friggin nerve of this girl!

My head jerk back at her remark. Is she serious? Why would I ever do any type of favors for her?! Especially THAT one! She must've lost her mind after taking those mind-numbing finals.

"If you think I'm going to tell you where my best friend went to hide herself from your ugly face for her safety, you're crazy. I'm out of here, I've wasted my time long enough." I turned away from Laura and her two followers and went down the flight of stairs.

"Fine. Who needs you anyway," Laura shouted at me before disappearing into the swarm of students who poured out the door cheering.

I pulled out my phone, dialed Nicole's number and held it to my ear to hear the low ringing before a soft voice answered. Sweet and timid.

"H-hey Deema. Sorry I couldn't stop and say hi earlier. Laura was after me. They were chasing me with a pair of scissors."

"Why would you ever let that maniac go near you with a pair of scissors?!"

"I didn't! We were in the principal's office because I had finally told Principal Greene that she had been bullying me nonstop throughout the year," My mouth dropped in shock. This girl has more balls than I do, sheesh. That's a line Maddie tends to use around me so for some. "Laura pulled this 'innocent girl' act which lead her to assume I was lying."

"Seriously? They still fall for that girl crying victim?"

"She only didn't believe me because I hang out with you. Principal Greene noticed that you and Laura no longer get along and she automatically assumed we were the bullies. She dismissed the session for that reason. She allowed Laura to excuse herself and I began to cry to her that she will continue to bully me especially after telling on her. Greene promised me she will keep an eye on her."

"Aw Nicki…" I said, almost speechless on what to say. That was very brave of her for doing what she did. I want to tell her that but I think she already knows. I can tell it took a lot for her to work up the courage to face her while telling the principal, even though she didn't believe her.

I heard her sniffles and hiccups on the other line and felt my heart sank. I began to start searching for her so I could comfort her. Left and right my head spun but she wasn't in sight. "After I left the office, Laura was standing by the door with these two girls waiting for me. She told the girls to hold me down and... God Deema it was horrible." she cried.

My stomach knotted at the thought of them harming her in any way. I continued to look for her through the crowd of smiling students interacting with one another but she was nowhere to be found. "They didn't hurt you did they? Where are you?" I asked sternly.

Nicole sniffled, "No, I ran off before they got too close to my hair. I'm close to the mall now. I was going home to tell my parents about her."

"Oh Nicki… you don't have to worry about them anymore. We have the whole Summer to ourselves. Which means: No Laura!" I exclaimed excitedly. Nicole let out a half-hearted laugh and I smiled. At least she felt better knowing that fact. There's no way anyone would invite Laura to their parties. She could hardly hold her liquor let alone dance. "Stay by the mall and I'll meet you there. Let's find you something cute to wear for those parties because they are all themed this year and you are invited."

A gasp of excitement escaped her lips.
