In a little box there are two gems of different hue,
One of red and one of blue,
The gem of red is hot and mean,
The gem of blue is calm and serene.
Crimson facets glare hate and disdain,
Cool blue depths ask you to remain.
Hold the fire and burn your hand,
Hug the water to soothe without command.
Kiss the ruby to scar your soul,
Adore the sapphire to regain control.
Dance with death in the scarlet room,
Sing with the bluebird to defeat the gloom.
Howl at the blood red sunset cry,
Admire the stars in the blue velvet sky.
Sin in bed with the quicksilver boy,
Gently kiss the girl of golden joy.
As he breathes harshly in your ear,
When she cries a single silent tear,
Remember they are one.
