"Explain to me why do I have to do this again," Roxanne grumbles as she sits on the stool, pointedly facing away from the mirror.
Fred rolls his eyes. He doesn't bother to come up with a clever excuse. "Because it was my idea, and I don't want to be the one looking ridiculous," he says simply, patting his sister on the head. "Now. Hold still."
Roxanne pulls away as he lifts his wand. Fred sighs heavily, lowering it again. He makes a mental note to find a better assistant. Maybe he should have asked Dominique. She would have thought it was hilarious.
"Have you ever done this before?" Roxanne asks, nerves causing a slight tremor in her voice.
"Don't you trust me? Actually, no. Don't answer that. You might hurt my feelings."
His sister rolls her eyes. Taking a deep breath, she nods, gesturing for him to do his thing. Fred clears his throat, lifting his wand. Truthfully, he hasn't tried to cast this jinx before, but it shouldn't be too hard. He hopes not, anyway.
"Entomorphis," he says with a flourish of his wrist.
Roxanne lets out a startled yelp as her features begin to shift. Fred hopes that it doesn't feel as painful as it looks. His sister is notorious for seeking revenge, and he can only imagine what she might do to him.
Her lips length and contort, forming pincers. Her eyes grow and become more circular. Fred thinks that she looks like a strange cross between a fly and a beetle with a human body.
"Mum!" he calls. "Mum! There's a bug in my room!"
He hears the footsteps. Roxanne makes a strange sound that is more insect than human, no doubt reminding him that he's an idiot.
"A bug?" his mum laughs, opening the door. "You really can't handle a little- Oh my God! What is- Roxy?"
Fred beams, pleased with the reaction. "She agreed to it," he assures her quickly, thankful that Roxanne nods her confirmation. "It's not like the whole Lucy incident this time."
"I don't know if I should ground you for this or celebrate that you've done pretty advanced Transfiguration," his mum mutters, circling Roxanne. "Can you reverse it?"
"I, uh, don't have the counterjinx," he admits sheepishly.
He isn't sure what's worse- his mum screaming or Roxanne smacking him.
