TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
(STARSKY & HUTCH VERSION)
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Starsky heard several noises; maybe it was a mouse
His Beretta was hung on the back of his chair
In the living room, why had he left it there?
He'd been safely nestled, all snug in his bed
While visions of train sets danced in his head
His stocking was hung by the tree with care
But, Hutch made it clear, he'd find no presents there,
In his living room there arose such a clatter
He jumped from his bed to see what was the matter
He leapt to the door and opened it slightly
If he could just get his weapon, he'd have to step lightly,
He was making his way, when who should appear
But Hutch all decked out in Santa gear
On his back he had slung a great big sack
He looked quite ridiculous; Starsky almost fell back,
Hutch's eyes twinkled; he looked so merry
His nose red from the cold, it looked like a cherry
The suit made him look like a jolly old elf
And Starsky had to laugh, in spite of himself,
Hutch spoke not a word, but went straight to the tree
And laid all the presents down so carefully
Then Hutch looked towards the bedroom and winked his eye
Starsky's mouth was agape; he could give no reply,
Hutch sprang out of the door and was gone in a hurry
His LTD roared from the street in a flurry
Starsky swore he heard Hutch as he drove out of sight
Say, "Merry Christmas Starsky and have a good night."
