Everyone was at the Burrow for this New Years Eve party. Ron, Hermione, George, Angelina, Bill, Fleur, Victoire, Charlie, Percy, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, of course, and Ginny and I were all there. It was a great, big family get-together. Everyone was as happy as could be. Ginny and I were at the front of the group. I wanted to stand there for a reason.

Molly and Arthur, with a lot of help from George, put together this huge fireworks show. There were mostly small ones before midnight. The biggest one was set to go at midnight, and there would be a few more big ones with another huge one as the finale.

It was about ten minutes until midnight. I kept my hand in my pocket to make sure I didn't lose it. I've been nervous plenty of times fighting Voldemort, but for some reason, I was more nervous than ever before.

Hermione, Ron, and I had graduated from Hogwarts about five years ago, Ginny graduating the year after.

My fingers trembled around the box. I had played out the scenario a thousand times in my head, but I was still scared to death that something would go wrong.

"Is something wrong, Harry?" Ginny asked me. She must've seen the look on my face.

"No. Maybe I'm a little tired, that's all," I replied.

We stood there, my right arm around her, left hand in my pocket for a little longer.

Five minutes until midnight.

We stood a little longer, watching the amazing fireworks display.

I checked my watch again.

About a minute until midnight. I had to get the timing right.

"Ginny," I asked, "do you love me?"

She was slightly startled. "Yes, Harry, of course I love you. I've said it before, haven't I?"

I checked my watch again nonchalantly. The timing was spot-on, just as I had planned.

I turned to face her, the fireworks glowing in my peripheral vision. She turned to face me as well, looking slightly confused.

"Ginny," I said, "I love you more than anything in the world, and all I want is to spend the rest of my life with you." I took the ring out of my left pocket and bent down on one knee. Everyone was looking at us with huge smiles, but I was shaking, and I just hoped that my voice wasn't shaking as well. "Ginevra Molly Weasley, will you marry me?"

"Yes!" she said, her hands over her mouth. I put the ring on her finger. I stood up, and she wrapped her arms around me. Then, right as the big midnight firework lit up the night sky, without caring that her entire family was watching, Ginny Weasley kissed me right on the mouth.
