A voice with an immediate Russian accent talks, communicating with the two third years, one male, the other female. "Drop time, 30 seconds. Are you two sure you're ready for this mission?"
"As sure as we are going to be ever thinking." Said the male, with a thick German accent.
They were about 2,000 feet above a 20 story building, enough to crush their bones if the landing they were attempting to pull wasn't right. The night sky was clear and filled with stars, considering this enormous high-rise building was in the country side. The voice spoke again, this time with concern in the pitch, "Drop time 10 seconds. Start countdown."
Inside each of the helmets the Alphas wore, a display clock reading :10 light up. The girl glanced at the boy, grabbed his glove concealed hand, and when the timer hit :00, they jumped.
The red-head looked up at the enormous monitor plastered on the screen. She could see through the helmets and saw exactly what the two jumpers saw. A sudden voice called out: "Raven, we need you to confirm some things, all mandatory as you know. Do you mind coming up to the control room?" She gave a heavy sigh, "Captain, you know as well as I do that I don't have the time. I have to—"
As soon as she spoke, alarms went off on the screen that had been fine a few moments ago. It read: CONNECTION TO HELMET ONE—TRANSMISSION LOST. She let out a curse word in Russian under her breath, unsheathed her dual katana swords from her scabbards and leapt out of the shroud at 90°, plummeting toward the building.
The grass was glistening with dew, while all that could be heard was the soft steps of the two children. The boy, heavy-set which went with his German accent, spoke to the girl. "Penny, are you sure this idea is going to be working? Otto would have made this a much more easy mission." The girl, Penny, very lanky responded, "Franz, keep your voice down. This is the easiest way to get into the building. Now let's go."
She grabbed his hand, and he blushed, as he always does. Ever since their last team mission, they had developed feeling for each other, almost like Otto and Laura. They had been unofficially going out for around 3 months, yet he hadn't had the nerve to kiss her. Could now be the right time? He thought he should wait and focus on the mission at hand. As he was thinking of all of this, he ran into the back of her, knocking her down, with him right after.
In the gaze of the moonlight, he could see her beautiful face, outlined with every little detail under the mask. He pulled his mask off, as she did with hers. He brushed the hair out of her face, and slowly bent down to reach her face. As their lips touched, he felt like nothing in the world could ruin the moment for them. They pulled away, both smiling and giddy, when they heard a rustling in the surrounding shrubs.
They didn't bother to pick up the masks, as Raven jumped towards them. She let out a sigh, and put her katanas back into place. She looked flustered and managed out, "This is a serious mission. You are members of one of H.I.V.E's infiltration teams. I don't expect to see this kind of behavior again, or Dr. Nero shall hear of it." Her words cut through the night air with such awkwardness that it made Penny giggle. They nodded in unison, and continued on after Raven.
