She wraps a blanket around herself. She's cold. As is her heart. It's cold. Black. Frozen. She thinks back. Was it only hours ago? That her family's throats were cut? That little hands held the knife? Little, pale, murderous hands. Only hours ago that those hands picked up the phone and called in the whitecoats? The hands of a killer. The hands that she runs through her curly blond hair. The ones she rubs her blue eyes with.
She sits in the backseat of a van. Her family piled in front of her. Dead. A man walks in. He smiles. She gives a murderous glare. His smile falters. "Girl." He pauses." You are now slated for extermination." She stays glaring.
"I did what you asked." A murmur.
"Are you really stupid enough to believe I would let you be?" Yes. Yes she is. She's stupid. She knows it. She sighs. She stands up. She doesn't deserve to live anyhow.
The man turns. He opens the back door. He steps out. She follows. There is a huge building. They walk inside. Her cold, black heart clenches. Her family is wheeled to different rooms. Rooms where men and women would pull apart their already dead bodies. Try to see how they worked. They wouldn't learn anything.
"Angel." She turns to her name. She sighs in relief. Jeb. There to save her sorry ass once again. Her ass that doesn't deserve to be saved. She doesn't notice the gun. The bullet that goes through her frozen heart. She doesn't feel the pain. Something pulls her down. Darkness swallows her. She fights. She struggles. She - she gives up. She lets the darkness take full control as it pulls her down.
