Onegai, bare with me. This is my first Vampire Hunter D fanfiction, and the only movie I have seen of the series is 'Vampre Hunter D : Bloodlust'

^-^ I'm kind of new to the whole thing, but I still like it.

D/C: I do not own any of the characters unless otherwise stated in that area/chapter.

The wind howled along the restless country side as D rode towards the location to which he had been asked to come. It was the dead of night. Only very few, if any, people were awake. Even most undead were at rest by this time of the night.

D didn't care, however. Night, day, day, night, it was the same to him. It was where they led him to that was important, and on this particular night, it was leading him to a nicely built town, unlike he had ever been allowed into. The buildings weren't run down or shacks, they were nice houses or buildings. Most of them were the size of a mansion or bigger.

When he reached the center of the town, he stopped at a trickling fountain on which the statue of a dragon sat, and the water came out from his bowed head. 'So this is it.' he thought as he looked around him. There was no noise around the fountain but only the sounds of the water trickling and the wind getting slapping against the buildings and trees, yet, he was not alone. There was not a light in any of the buildings or houses, yet, he was not alone. No one could be seen, even with his great vision, but still yet, he was not alone. He could sense something-a heart beat. It was very faint, as if the creature were barely there, but it was still a heart beat.

"So you came after all, Dunpeel.... I am glad." came a shaky voice behind him. D did not bother to turn around, rather made a simple reply.

"Tell me what you need of me so that I may depart." D said in his usual calm tone.

"I need you to *Weeze* get back my love. She was stolen from me seventy-three years ago." once again came the shaky voice, however, this time, it had a sense of need about it.

D turned around. "Why now after all those years? She is probably deceased and long forgotten by most."

"Most, Dunpeel, most, but not by me." A shadowed figure stood in the darkness of a building, not bothering to reveal itself.

"It will not be easy to do such a task." D said.

"I never said it would be easy, did I, boy?" the voice said.

Only a moment later, a black leather drawstring bag with blood-red satin lining slid out from the shadows where the figure kept himself concealed.

"That is the down payment." the voice said as D bent steadily to pick up the bag that was now lying at his feet. "More will be given once she is returned."

D said nothing, just re-saddled his horse and turned to leave, as the voice cracked out a final word before he left.

"Make haste, Dunpeal. I must see her before I die. It shall be in the dead of night, jsut before dawn, on the third day...." the voice trailed off.

"The dead of night, just before dawn, on the third day." D repeated as he rode off into the dark night.

'On the third day....'

This was more less the prologue....but I considered it the first chapter.

Anywho, what do you say about it?

Sucks, stinks, needs to be deleted, what?
