Title: Superglue
Drabble: #42
Rave's prompt: Glue
Randomly selected pairing: Taisuke
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: I just finished watching The Wicker Man. That's one warped film, I'm telling you.
Daisuke hates giving his friends shop-bought cards and presents for their birthdays; he doesn't think they have any real meaning. Personally, he'd much rather receive something homemade with sentimental value rather than something which just cost a lot of money, so he makes presents for his friends as well. And since Ken is his absolute best friend in the world, and his birthday is coming up, his present gets just a tiny bit more effort and time put into it than anybody else's. Except, of course, his boyfriend's.
Unfortunately, this habit of making presents for his friends often leaves said boyfriend rather bored. Like today, while Daisuke is making Ken's present, and Taichi is sitting beside him, head resting in his arms. Every now and then he'll blow a raspberry, just to get some attention from Daisuke, or make a half-heartedly snide remark about how he has messed up on a bit of the present.
Daisuke pauses in the middle of applying glue, resulting in a large dollop where he didn't want it, to send a satisfied grin over at Taichi. Anyone would think he was jealous.
Turning away, Taichi begins to grumble. Who wouldn't be jealous? Here he and his gorgeous boyfriend are, with a whole evening entirely to themselves, and Daisuke would rather make Ken a present. Ken's birthday isn't for another two weeks, for crying out loud. Can't Daisuke make the present nearer the time?
Daisuke takes on a defensive tone, claiming that he has to make it in parts because otherwise the glue won't dry in time. Besides, as much as it makes him feel like he's triumphed whenever Taichi gets jealous, he really doesn't need to be. Ken's only his friend, and there's no one Daisuke would rather have as a lover than Taichi.
This time Taichi snorts, but doesn't offer any other kind of reply. After a few moments he feels Daisuke take his hand and hold it tightly, and it takes him a second or two to realise that his boyfriend had covered his palm with glue.
He makes a vaguely disgusted noise and tries to pull his hand away, but Daisuke isn't having any of it. He wants to wait until the glue dries, so they can be together forever.
