A fresh breeze danced in the air while stray leaves waved goodbye as they left their mother tree. Dandelions and buttercups painted the plains a heavenly gold colour.
Everything seemed so serene, so different from the everyday schedule of the city. No bustling crowds, no constant smell of pollution, no nothing. But it was missing something, something small but everlasting.
He gazed at his blue faker, his eyes normally icy cold were glinting with a burning passion. A rare sight indeed. An even rarer sight to see the never stopping, fleet footed hedgehog sleeping soundly under the large twisting willow tree. It felt like they were in their own world, covered from anyone's prying eyes by the hanging threads of light olive green.
Feeling a familiar shoe nudging his side, his eyes flickered open slowly, revealing his vibrant emerald green eyes full of life.
"Hey," he whispered, his voice rather raspy, as if choking down on an undying fervor. He sat up, getting out of his nonchalant sleeping 'pose' with an oh so famous cocky grin. "You're late."
Dark crimson eyes rolled in a histrionic way before lips curving into a warm smile. "Ready, Faker?"
He didn't answer, but their eyes locking told all the answers. The standing held his hand out, a gesture to help him up. The sitting took it with a beaming smile. He pulled him up, receiving a light peck on the cheek.
He chuckled. "Let's go."
And with that, they sped off like fireworks launching in the air, like lightning striking down, like blue and black.
Like Sonic and Shadow.
