The Happy Mask

It was an average cold night, rain fell from the sky, my breath was visible, and shipping containers stood piled amongst each other. The concrete path holding them above the water the rolled along the sides. I was there watching it from the cameras a boring job with little pay, but any job would be better than none. I checked the cameras again for the third time that hour. I noticed something a shadow in the distance. I thought maybe it was a container but, it moved. Maybe a boat but, no boats could cast a shadow there. I looked closely and saw the figure of a person, no one should be at the docks right now except me. Then the shadow was gone. I took a double take how did it just disappear? Then the cameras screeched in static and the video was cut off. I got out of my chair "What the fuck is going on!" I thought to myself. I headed for the door to find out what I saw, and maybe to fix the cameras. But the door was locked. I thought "I didn't lock the door" but maybe I did to be safe. I reached into my pocket for my keys and found none. I looked around for them but they weren't there. I searched the same spot over and over again "Where the fuck are my keys!" I shouted in frustration. Then I heard footsteps behind me. I tried to whip around but, I couldn't move, my limbs were frozen. Then I heard a voice crackling with static say "You seem upset. Mind if I warm up your heart?" Then a searing pain shot up my spine as something dug into my back carelessly ripping open my skin and muscle. Then it slowed down and slowly reached forward. I could feel a cold bone like hand slowly grasp my heart. Then I could feel it slowly tighten its grasp. Then I could hear a loud pop! My heart had popped.
