Artemis POV.

This is how I die. It's not pleasant but I did it in the call of duty.

We were in the middle of fighting the shadows after what should of been a simple re-con mission but Kid Idiot over there couldn't stay quiet. My so called 'Dad' a.k.a. Sportsmaster was involved, I always had this feeling that he would be the death of me. But forgetting about that, we were fighting Shadows and we swung punches and sent Shadow members flying but then I saw my sister, Cheshire, sneaking up behind Robin with what looked like jellyfish poison.

"KF, Manoover 7!" I jumped and he hoisted me up and I kicked Cheshire out of Robin's reach.

"Well, Well, little sister. Your getting better." She said, wiping the blood from her nose.

"Go to hell." I growled.

She eyed someone, I looked behind me but no one was there, was she going insane? I thought to myself. Not expected really, I swung a punch and hit her, what was she up to, she's never been this bad. I kicked her, she was bleeding more.

"Lookie who's here, darlin'. Your ol' dad." Smirked Sportsmaster.

"You bastard." I muttered, I darted towards him swinging kick after kick, punch after punch he dodged most but didn't others.

"Sorry for this baby girl, just business you know. You would have been a great assassin, possibly even a weapon to the light. But now, you will die." With that, he shot me.

"AGH!" I screamed and fell off the creates we were standing on. Everything fell to black.

Robin POV.

I heard the bullet, but I didn't know who shot it. I saw Artemis falling, she was shot.

"ARTEMIS!" I reached out to catch her but I was too late, she hit them ground unconscious. The remaining shadows were told to leave and left, us there to tend to our fallen teammate.

"Artemis...?" KF softly spoak worried.

"We have to move her if she has any chance of survival." Kaldur finally spoak. "Miss Martian, can you levitate Artemis to the bio-ship?" He finished.

"I-I think so." She consentrated and Artemis was moved.
