Riku remembers little of his past life. He remembers a lake and he remembers the cold. But mostly, he remembers darkness.

And it was the moon, shining through the cold and the lake, that saved him from the darkness. And it was because of the moon that he met the love of his life.

Three hundred years pass since his awakening, and Riku dons the persona of Jack Frost, bringing about winter and snow and fun wherever the North Wind blows him. Riku enjoys his immortal life, enjoys the laughter and games he brings to children and enjoys hanging out with them all over the world.

Riku just wishes they could see him.

Riku stands before of kids all around the world, he freezes their lakes and gives them sticky snow for snowmen with his wooden staff, if he was The Easter Bunny or Santa he would be seen, no one sees the mythical Jack Frost.

Being ignored stings like frost did when he was alive, but because Riku was the cold he ignored it as part of his life and covered the pain with fun.

Eventually Riku decides to stop by a little island that barely sees the cold; give them a snow day. He lands and walks the streets, scouting out the city and testing the winds before he gives them something to really celebrate.

Then it happens.

"Hey." Riku turns, having always enjoyed witnessing coincidental meetings. He sees a brown-haired kid walking towards him, smiling and waving. Riku spun with the wind, looking to see the kid's friend except there was no one there.

"Who is he talking to?" he wonders aloud. A bad habit he picked up after once going two weeks without speaking a word to anyone.

"You, silly." Riku jumps, facing the kid again who is now standing only a few feet from where Riku is. "I haven't seen you around here before."

"You can see me?"

The kid blinks, looking to both sides at the people who are pulling their coats tighter as the split to move around them. "They can't?"

Riku's mouth drops and he extends his hand, touching the kid's face. He shivers but doesn't pull away. "No. They can't."

"Well," The brunette starts, taking a step closer and bringing up his hand to cover Riku's. "we have something in common then." He takes his free hand and tosses it to the side so that it hits a businessman passing by, but the appendage just passes through him.

Riku detangles their hands and reels back half a step. "You're-?"

"A ghost. They call me Christmas Miracle," Riku shakes his head, the only other immortals he had met so far had been holiday icons or the daily creatures of lore that all the kids believe in. Never had he met an immortal like himself, an invisible one. "you can call me Sora though."

"Jack Frost, but it's Riku to you."

"What are you doing here, Frost?"

Riku rolls his eyes, but doesn't comment on the name. "I was planning on giving this island a snow day." He shrugs as if it's nothing to make it snow on a tropical island. "Wanna help?" he shoots Sora a half smile, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Sora returns the smirk and looks around the little village. "Give this place a snow day" The North Wind Howled around them. "It would take a miracle."

A/N: I may have seen Rise of the Guardians solely because I'm in love with Chris Pine...but it was actually pretty good. Shhh. I'm not smitten with another fictional character.
