The spirit of Martha Wayne desperately calls out to her son. Sadly, her cries of anguish fall silent on the ears of the living. Not even an echo can be heard in the corridors of Wayne Manor. Still she must try to reach her beloved son, Bruce. She follows him into his dark, damp, abode; throwing herself at his feet. Pleading with him to give up his senseless need for violence, and return once more to the world. Bruce continues on his way. His face is blank, void of all emotion. He is as one possessed, driven on by a single purpose; retribution.
Martha continues to call out to her son with arms wide open, and a river of tears pouring down her face. Bruce disappears into darkness. Martha buries her face into the ground , sobbing inconsolable.
Moments pass, Martha feeling both drained and defeated somehow finds the strength to raise herself off the floor. She must save whatever is left of that precious child that was taken from her so many years ago.
As she gathers her senses, a dark figure emerges from the shadows. It is not her son but the Bat Man. Martha stares at the monstrous figure before her, and knows that Bruce is no more. Her son was lost many years ago, on a street known by the locals, as crime ally.
There is nothing left for her to do, but slip back into that eternal state of being. Where she will rest once again by her husband's side and hope that one day, Bruce may join them in their peaceful slumber.
