Chapter 1: No Resting

After the fight against the covenant, under the beautiful night sky of the colors black, blue, purple, and pink. Laying in the soft grassy meadows by a silent but soothing lake were two young spartans. There was a navy green Mjolnir armored spartan with a glimmering golden visor named Maximus. There was also one in smokey black and turqoise armor with a black visor, she was his girlfriend named Brickell. She was laying on top of max with her head resting against his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and they layed still enjoying the silence and sounds of nature.

Lifting her head she spoke in a whisper, "Don't you ever wonder when the war is going to end?" she said breaking the silence although there was a short pause after her question. "I'm pretty sure everyone does but..." he paused again. She removed her helmet, untying her long brown hair, she smiled sweetly at him. "but what?" He looked into her bright blue eyes and continued, "I really miss seeing your face, and i dont care how long the war goes on, as long as i have you with me..." removing his helmet too, he brushed his hair out of his face and smiled back at her. She leaned in and kissed him "I love you" she said in a soft voice. "I love you too Brickey" he said in reply. She giggled "hehe but didn't you want a little you?" He smiled back and laughed "cute, and yes i would" he nuzzled her and added on to his sentence "But it's worth the wait Brickey"

He got up and picked her up off her feet by her waist. She laughed and held his shoulders as she wrapped her legs around his waist. He spun her around for a while then he layed her in the grass gently getting on her. "Hehe I'm glad i have you" she said to him smiling. "I'm glad i have you too" he smiled and started tickling her. She started laughing and rolling around as he chased her. When he was done making her laugh he layed next to her.

They looked up at the sky and talked about their future. Until, Brickell noticed a light coming over the hills. "Max what is that?" She got up not hesitating and pulled up her DMR aiming at the light. He got up as well and pointed his gun in the same direction. "I dont know but it looks like we're about to find out." They stood and waited silently.
