A to S
The beginning of the alphabet is an A that belongs to apples, avocados and all things animalistic. That is how they fight the crowds of heartless that rushed them, swinging their weapons in large arc, cutting through the numbers of heartless easily, until each has cleared a path - and then they run.B is for beginnings, and that is what occurs between the two. A strange, quirky friendship starts to form as they beat heartless every night again and again, until the shadows fade away into the ground and leaves nothing behind. Riku once asked him why the heartless were after him, but he had only shook his head under that hood of his.
C is for cloaked, as they both stand. Riku covers his eyes with a blindfold and destroys every target straight in the center because he sees with his heart. XIII, on the other hand, shields his appearance in fear of being spotted.
D is for death, that which they bring.
E is for escaping. XIII is running from the Organisation that is seeking him down, and Riku longs to slip through the grasp of the darkness that has held him tight for months now.
F is the freedom that neither has, but both want. The freedom of being oneself, the freedom of the heart - but Riku is too far into the darkness and XIII never had one.
G, to them, is grieve, gaol, and gestures. This is how they communicate, not by eyes, but by actions. When XIII somersaults in the air, Riku braces himself and leaps forward, vanquishing the circle of enemies in one smooth movement.
H is the hatred that burns in Riku's heart, swallowed by the darkness. He hates them - the Nobodies, and he wants Sora back by his side again, but somehow, he cannot offer that same emotion to XIII, despite knowing who he is.
I is the ice that froze a long time ago over XIII's eyes, that which Riku wonders if he, alone, could melt.
J is for the puzzles that both Riku and XIII are - jigsaws of the mind, never fitting one piece or archetype completely. Though a Nobody, XIII stands out; though of the darkness, Riku walks not its path.
K is for king, the feeling they had at the top of the world in the world that never was.
L is lonesome, lonely and left behind; Riku is the odd one out, and XIII has always been alone.
M is m-mas-master, the way XIII groans it.
N is naked, the way Riku likes his XIII.
O is the way XIII's lips widens and moans when they're in bed.
P is for perfect - because Nobody is perfect, and Riku thinks so too.
Q is the Queen, which Riku often imagines XIII to be. His.
S is for Sora - Riku cannot help but see Sora in Roxas and Roxas cannot bring himself to forget the face of Sora, that which he recalls to be alike to his own. S is also for searching, as Riku searches for a fragment of Sora and Roxas, a part of himself.
R is for Roxas and Riku, but XIII is a Nobody and Riku a facet of the darkness -
R doesn't exist at all.
