Breathe

There he is.
Standing by the window with his mates like he is every other morning.
The bell rings.
"Do we have to go to class?" asks Alice.
"Yes, and if we don't leave now we're going to be late." Replies Marlene.
"I'm going this way this morning." Says Lily, her mind focussed on a certain raven-haired boy.
"Why? Your class is on the other side of the scho- oh."
And that 'oh' explains everything as Alice looks down the corridor towards the window.
She's walking towards the window, only a few feet away with Alice. If her voice gets higher, or she laughs louder, her walk more pronounced it's all so that he'll notice her.
Act as if he doesn't exist. Act as if you don't care. Oh, but it's so hard when he looks like that!
His best mate glances at her.
Does he know?
He continues his conversation and she doesn't think he saw her, until she sneaks another glance, and there it is, his bright hazel eyes lock on hers for a few blissful seconds. Then his eyes leave hers as quickly as they met and his conversation never falters.
As they make their way up the staircase she lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding and the butterflies settle down a bit. She whispers to Alice:
"I saw something I like!!"
Alice rolls her eyes and says "Ew."
She just laughs and continues her way to class with a skip in her step and the thoughts of that moment in her head.
A/N: This fic is actually based on a 'lucky' morning that happened to me at school. My friend doesn't like the guy I like claiming he's a 'dick'. Too bad I'm done school forever!
