"Are you serious?" Massie demanded, slamming her fists roughly against the newly cleaned white marble table. "Please, tell me you're joking and not out to ruin my life!"
Jason Block, Massie's father turned to Tiffany Block his wife as he lowered the Westchester Post down to his chin. She returned the glance and rolled her piercing light blue eyes as he shrugged.
"Um, excuse me!" Were her parents delusional and had forgotten that she was there and could see every movement they made?
"Aria, honey," her mother began placing her delicate hand lightly on Massie's shoulder. "Listen very carefully. Sandra's party is out of the question because the Lyon's are coming all the way from Florida to come live with us and since we want to welcome them here, we are going to have a nice dinner tonight. Together."
"Since when were we a shelter for the homeless, mommy?" she blinked twice and stared innocently at her mother who frowned instantly.
"Massie! Please! Go to your room and get ready for dinner!" Jason demanded, not bothering to look up from his newspaper.
"Uh! This is the definition of social suicide!" Massie stomped up her 'U' shaped stairs, not bothering to take off her new Prada heels as she flew up the stairs with her puppy Beans right by her side.
At least I can always count on you, she thought as she slammed her room door.
"No slamming," her father's voice pierced through the intercom that her mother decided to place in every room in their house.
Massie flopped on to her four poster bed, shoving aside her violet colored Calvin Klein limited edition sheets. She sighed as she propped herself up, scanning her newly done French tips Massie groaned. What had she done to deserve this? Did the universe really hate her this much?
Pulling Beans beside her she looked at her room. Massie's room was copied from a very classy hotel room she went to before when she visited California with her dad for a business trip. The room had a very sophisticated feel with her white Mac computer and desk, white framed flat screen television and white sofas. Her room was pretty boring in till she read in her absolutely favorite magazine, Teen Vogue that purple was the color of royalty. Once she found that info. Massie put the color purple anywhere possible in her room. Now her room had a splash of sophistication and royalty. The complete alpha package.
Suddenly, there was a loud ding from her Mac computer. Beans ran over to her computer and frantically began barking.
"Beans! Chill!" Massie rose from her bed as she toke off her heels and stuffed her feet into her new Coach Sheepskin slippers. She toke a seat at her computer desk to see that one of her best friends Alicia Rivera had messaged her.
