"Stop that," Lavender told Seamus, hitting him with the newspaper.
"Stop what?"
"Staring at them."
"At what?"
"You know what Seamus, the scars."
"I wasn't staring at them Lavender, I don't even notice them."
"You don't need to lie to me Seamus. They are on my face like freckles are on Ron's."
Seamus let out a chuckle at this and immediately regretted it.
"You think that this is funny?!"
"No! I honestly don't, just the bit about Ron made me chuckle."
"Humph."
It had been a long 7 years since the Final Battle for Lavender. She was a girly girl, priding her appearance and gossip knowledge over straight O's in class. She preferred dresses and make up to jeans and quidditch. Nowadays however, Lavender enjoyed staying in doors, doing odd jobs and keeping herself out of the gossip ring.
"Lavender, I don't see the scars, honestly. I see you and only you. Everything you've built for you, for us and all of your beauty."
"Beauty? All I can see are these damned scars," Lavender replied, her eyes fluttering to the floor and her chin meeting her neck.
Seamus gently lifted her chin and locked eyes with her, "These scars did nothing but show the rest of the world exactly how brave I always knew you were."
He gently brushed the scars with his finger then placed a soft kiss on her scarred cheek. Seamus continued kissing along her scar to her jaw line and then continued to her collar bone.
"Seamus," Lavender said softly.
"Mmm?"
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Just, thank you."
[A/N] Aw, the ending falls flat for me. Tell me what you think : )
