It was all too much for her, the story, school, and Jared. After all there was only so much a sixteen year old could handle. A normal sixteen year old didn't have to worry about being killed on a daily bases. But I'm not normal, she thought, and I never was.

The bell rang, but Mina was in such deep thought she didn't even notice until somebody shook her. "Mina? Are you okay? We can leave now" It was Brody. His voice was calm but she could tell he was concerned.

"What? Yeah I'm fine, thanks."

" Do you want me to take you home, you look pale?" YES, OF COURSE I WANT YOU TO TAKE ME HOME!

"No, I'm going to go find Nan." And she quickly maneuvered out of the room. Nan was already coming down the hall happily as always.

"Mina! It's Friday. What do you want to do this weekend?"

"Sleep."

" Ugh. That's so boring. You really need to learn how to have fun, Mina.''

"I do know how to have fun," she augured, "I just don't feel like it."

"Whatever, let's just go home then." Mina felt bad. She knew that she hadn't been easy to be friends with ever since…

A familiar car pulled up next to them. "Hey. Do you guys want a ride?" before Mina could say anything Nan said, "Yes." Nix and Brody were in the car. "So where should I drop you guys off?"

"Nan's house." Mina wasn't taking any chances. What if he recognizes the Golden Palace? What if he remembers when he took her there? That wasn't something wanted. Right? Brody cleared his throat. "Are you doing anything this weekend, Mina?"

"No." "Do you want to go see a movie with me tomorrow?"

"She'd love to." "Great. Why don't we make this a double date? Nix and Nan can come" "That sounds perfect." Mina and Nix had nothing to say about the date.

Did I just make Nixan happen? Opps. Thank you so much for reading! I'm still learning how to use this website, but I'll try to update soon. I ship Jarina, if you didn't already know.
