I: The challenge
Trunks sat at his desk looking over notes he had written. His last patient was a cutter. Easy for the most part, she wanted to change. All he had to do was tell her what to do and make sure that she did it. Every time she came to see him she wanted to know what else she could do. She was pretty up front with what was working and what wasn't.
She had just left his office and now he was waiting for the nurse to come with the next patient. The patient was depressed but she was harder to deal with then the cutter was. This one had no faith left in her life anymore. She felt she had no reason to live and Trunks didn't look forward to seeing her today.
"Trunks," the nurse came in, "one of the doctors would like to see you. Should I let him in?"
Trunks looked up from his notes, "Uh, sure I guess. I got some time."
"Okay I'll send him in." The nurse walked away from the door and Gohan appeared in her place. Trunks smiled at his friend.
Gohan and Trunks had gone to school together for a while. Gohan was the same age but he had finished school before Gohan since he had gotten into it earlier. They were the youngest therapists in the building so they learned to get along more than they had before.
"Hi Gohan," Trunks said looking back at his papers, "How's your wife?"
"Fine," Gohan threw a folder in front of Trunks, "I have a assignment for you."
"Oh yeah? What's that?"
"A challenge," Gohan smiled.
"Okay, explain," Trunks picked up the folder and scanned through the papers.
"Well this girl is up for grabs."
"What's wrong with her?"
"She's sixteen years old. Her mother put her in here for her behavior-"
Trunks raised an eyebrow, "Depressed?"
"Not quite. I think she has a problem with relationships, but I am not her doctor."
"So she can't keep boyfriends?"
"She's a 'bad' girl," Gohan laughed.
"She disobeyed mom so they threw her in a psychward?"
"Sort of."
"Drugs, sex…drinking?"
"No. According to her mother and some therapists here, she can't be controlled."
"So…what?"
"Yes sex, but she's not normal about it," Gohan sighed.
Trunks took a paper out of the folder, "How so?"
"No boyfriends."
"Maybe she prefers to be alone?"
"Been doing it since she was twelve and she has a certain type."
"That doesn't mean needs help."
"She sleeps with older men only if it is unacceptable. This girl knows what she is doing. Her mom wants to keep her out of the house for now but I'm not sure why. That's where you come in."
"Why me?"
"No one else wants her. She's gone through three therapists in a year. So here's your challenge. Can you handle it?"
Trunks shrugged, "Maybe."
"Well I'll send her in later today then."
"Great."
Gohan left the room and Trunks' next patient. She sat down on the couch nervously and looked at the floor. Trunks smiled, "How are you feeling today." He got only a shrug in response this is how it went for the next hour.
After the hour was over the girl got up and headed for the door. As she was about to open it another girl came through, it was the new patient. She pushed through the other girl and walked over to Trunks' desk.
"So you're my new therapist," the girl said.
"Uh, yes. You can call me Trunks."
"My name is Bra. You're cute you know. Better than my other therapists," she said raising her eyebrow.
"Okay. Why don't you sit down?"
Bra back up and laid across the couch, "I have to warn you I'm good at what I do."
"And what is it that you do?"
Bra smiled, "I think you know."
A/N: not much now but more to come.
