Blue Bloods – Schyler/Jack
It was a sin, one quite similar to the one he was cast from heaven for. He was, after all, a fallen angel. Cursed for daring to love Lucifer more than God. Looking at her looking at the painting he realised he was absolutely content. He did not seek redemption, from either God or the former Prince of Heaven. He wanted to never leave the museum, never move on from that moment in time.
Schyler looked so innocent and mature at the same time. She was a new soul, not cast from Heaven, but born on Earth. At the same time, the depth of her emotion astounded him. She examined the painting before her and knew exactly what it meant, the emotions of the couple. It was the same understanding and insight that he loved about her. Mimi, though hundreds of years older, had yet to learn as much about humanity as Schyler had in a decade and a half.
As much as he hated to admit it, she would be the death of him. Mimi would never forgive his betrayal. But while he had lived with Mimi, even as a part of her, he lived for Schyler. He would gladly die if it meant he remained loyal to her. As soon as she first spoke to him, noticing who he was and caring, he had been a believer. He could never be converted.
