She was perfect. Her body lay entangled with yours underneath the sheets. She lets out a deep sigh on content in her sleep and snuggles closer to you.

You feel a smile tug at your lips as you take in her beauty. Her silky strawberry blond hair is fanned out angelically on the pillow beneath her. Her toffee colored eyes, even though closed in sleep, seemed to sparkle. She had a slight dusting of freckles across her nose that became more prominent whenever she would blush. She always yells at you when you gleefully point that fact out. And her lips…those soft kissable lips. You could get lost in your thoughts all day about them. But right now, they have a sleepy smile on happiness upon them.

When she shifts in her sleep, throwing her left arm across your bare torso, you can feel the gentle thud of her heartbeat against yours.

You tenderly brush a few strands of hair off her face and place a loving kiss on her forehead.

You hear her sigh and whisper, "Love you." as she nuzzles closer.

She once told you that men come and go, but that a diamond was forever. Looking back at that moment now, you can't help but wonder if that was her way of dropping a not so subtle hint.

Slowly, you tear your eyes away from the solitary diamond that now adorns her finger. You knew that Alex was your forever love the moment you laid your eyes on her. "Love you too." You whisper back, closing your eyes.

Together, you would make forever.
