A/N: and this is what happens when I watch previews of my favorite angel! Am I the only person that thought of this?
"Sam! C'mon Dad said we could go to the park to look for him. Let's go."
Sam groaned, looking up at his older brother. "Dean, I tried. It was the first, and second and third thing I did since I got home from school. Son of a bitch won't answer to me."
Dean shrugged, opening the car door to allow his gangly younger brother in. "Well let's just give it a shot, eh?"
Sam looked nonplussed, but complied anyway. The two drove to the park in silence, looking up and down the streets as they went. By the time they got to their destination, Sam looked more than annoyed with this inconvenience.
Undeterred, Dean stepped out of the car, and looked about the park. People mulled about the paths on the beautiful Friday afternoon, unknowing of the plight two young men found themselves in.
"Dean, this is ridiculous."
Silencing him, Dean raised a hand and gave him a smirk. "Let's try a little prayer now, shall we?" He closed his eyes, the ghost of a smirk on his face. "Now I lay me down to sleep… I pray to Cas to get his ass back here."
Sam rolled his eyes, rubbing at his temple. "You're an idiot…"
"Stay positive."
"Oh I am!"
Dean sighed, leaning back against the car. "C'mon Cas…" He called out, looking about the scenery with a keen eye. "Don't be a dick…" his face fell slightly, thinking about the past several days. "We got ourselves a bit of a sitch here… you been gone for two days. Do ya copy?" he finished, his tone raised to the sky in calling.
Nothing happened.
Sam, looking more confident than his worth, stepped in front of Dean, crossing his arms. "Like I said… the son of a bitch… doesn't answer…"
Dean opened his eyes to retort to his little brother, when something caught his eye. He looked over Sam's shoulder with an unreadable expression on his face.
Immediately, Sam tensed, his face screwing up in defeat. "He's right behind me isn't he?" At his brother's silent affirmative, Sam turned around. Behind him, stood a black and tan husky with bright blue eyes. His blue collar looked a bit dirty, hanging loosely from his neck, but other than that he didn't look worse for wear.
With a smirk, Dean knelt down, holding his hand out. "C'mon Cas!" he urged, snapping his fingers to the dog.
Cas yapped happily, running past Sam and straight into Dean's arms. He licked his face happily, practically crawling into Dean's lap. As if on a side thought, the dog turned his head and barked to Sam before resuming his full attention to Dean.
Dean, by the way, gave his brother the most smug, satisfied look he could muster, grinning from ear to ear as he poured affection on his once-missing pup.
Sam didn't look amused. "He's so your freaking dog…"
