He lied to her.
Kagome shivered, her teeth chattering against each other, rattling her very being to the core. She pressed shaking fingers hard against the gaping wound in his chest, forcing herself to ignore the wet groan from her unconscious companion who sounded as if his lungs were filled with blood. She blinked back tears. He was perfection, supposedly immortal, he promised.
She whimpered, forcing herself to breath and feeling as if she'll choke and pass out. "It's okay," she whispered to herself. "You're going to be okay."
He lied to her.
"You'll be okay," she sobbed. "You promised!"
