I have no idea what I was thinking when i wrote this. This afternoon, I just happened to think of the line 'We were best friends, nothing more, nothing less.' and my friend kind of got me addicted to the song Doushite by DBSK. Yeah... The fic actually played out like the MV of the song for the most part. Go check the song out, it's really sad. [P.S I do not know anything about DBSK and the many other names it has]

I'm sitting with him. It's awkward. He knows. He knows how I feel.

I laugh to myself.

"Hey... Take care of her, okay?"

He adjusts the bow on his tuxedo and gives me a half-hearted smile.

"I will. I love her."

"I'm sorry. Of course you do. I mean, you're getting married to her."

He chuckles.

"That's alright. I know... how much you care for her."

"Why me?"

"Pardon?"

"Why am I your best man? We aren't exactly the best of buds."

I bite my tongue. That sounded so... mean. I couldn't help it though. I couldn't control myself. I never could, when it came to her.

"Because... She wants you to be a part of her wedding."

"If you ever hurt her, I will hunt you down and skin you alive."

He smiles.

"That won't be happening."

One of his friends pops his head into the room to tell us to take our places. We both do.

I sneak a glance at him from the corner of my eye. He's a lucky guy. He stole her heart. I knew she loved me too, but it wasn't the same.

The chime starts. The doors open and I see her, looking stunning in a white dress.

She makes her way down the aisle, beside him. How I wish... How I wish it was me that she was standing beside.

But it wasn't.

The ceremony starts. I block eveything out.

But then, my ears prick up when the priest asks her whether she would take him as her husband.

She hesitates and throws me a glance, asking me for support. She's nervous, but she really loves him.

As much as my heart protests, I give her a small smile. She smiles back.

"I do."

I cannot feel my heart breaking anymore. It had already been ripped out of my chest the day she agreed to be his girlfriend.

Everyone heads to the hall for lunch. I follow.

I bump into someone. It's her.

She looks kind of nervous.

"We... We were meant for each other right? Me and him?"

I smile.

"Of course."

Her usual playful grin returns to her face, bringing out the light in her amber eyes. She gives me a small wave and walks back to him, to his side.

I watch her go. I say nothing.

After all, Cagalli and I were best friends, nothing more, nothing less.

Okaaaaay... When I first wrote this fic, it was AsuCaga and ShinnCaga (Cause Shinn was the only available guy left). Then I thought me writing a ShinnCaga was weird cause I HATE that pairing. I loathe it with a passion, like ShinnxStellar. So I changed the girl to Luna, but then I realized I wrote a lot about Luna already so now it's back to AsuCaga but instead of ShinnCaga, it's UnknownCaga.
