Clockwork watched the time screens of the life of young Daniel Fenton. At present his life was about to change and he was watching what would come of that change. He watched as the boy was presented with a question, a choice. This question led down two separate paths for his life, normally one could loop back into the other path but this choice did not have that option. Whatever choice the boy would make, there would be no going back.
He watched the screens carefully, there were many dangers in both paths and he had to make sure whichever one the boy did choose did not result in destruction of the world. Both paths had that potential. That is why he was observing this particular boys timeline. Well that and The Observants had charged him with the task. He would watch both potential paths and see how things result from them and give the boy more to think about what would stem from the answer of one question.
"Should you tell your parents about this?" Sam asked.
