You trekked along the snowy streets of Nome, the sound of snow crunching underneath your paw pads when suddenly, you heard a whimpering noise to your left. You turned your head and walked up a small flight of stairs and onto a porch. Turning your head to the right, you noticed a scrawny young male husky dog who was crying. Drops of tears fell like rain from the edge of his nose and hit the wooden floor at his paws. He was crying so hard, he didn't even notice when you walked up next to him and draped your paw around his back, gently rubbing it, "What's wrong?"
The dog immediately stopped crying and jumped at the sound of your voice. He turned to face you, his normally blue eyes a shade of turquoise from all the salty tears he had been shedding, "Oh! I...I didn't even notice you sneak up on me like that. I was so wrapped up in my own grief that I guess I just shut everything off. My name's Star, by the way."
"My name's Y/N." You replied, shaking his paw, "So, why were you crying?""Oh..." Star sighed gloomily as he hung his head, "Well...I used to be part of a gang of dogs. I uh...did some mean things and uh...I feel sad about it." He forced an awkward chuckle.
"Did you apologize for whatever you did?" You asked, starting to stroke his back again.
"Y...yeah. I still just feel so guilty, that's all." Star choked out, a few bitter tears rolling down his nose.
You leaned forward and tenderly licked the tears rolling down Star's nose with your tongue. Star chuckled a bit, a blush spreading across his muzzle as he felt you lick his tears away. You pulled back and smiled at him, "Well, I forgive you."
"R-really?" Star whimpered, his heart racing in his chest, "So, you don't hate me?"
"Of course." You replied, "You're just too adorable to stay mad at. Besides, you have the most beautiful blue eyes I've seen on a dog."
"Thank you so much!" Star wailed as warm tears streamed down his muzzle. This time, tears of joy. Without hesitation, he pulled you into a massive hug and rested his head on your shoulder, nuzzling you aggressively, his tears soaking into your fur. For a good 5 minutes, the two of you stayed in the warm, furry embrace before Star finally broke away and wiped his eyes with his paws. You leaned in close and licked at the tear stains on Star's muzzle and he started laughed, "S...stop! That tickles!"
You stopped licking and gazed deep into his adorable and mesmerizing blue eyes. "I...I think I love you, Y/N..." Star whispered softly into your ear. Slowly, the two of you leaned forward and touched noses, softly kissing each other. You may have just met him but deep in your heart, you just knew that Star was the one for you.
The end.
